Provincial leader directs focusing on epidemic control in IPs, public investment capital disbursement

Updated: 15:50, 01/11/2021
(BGO) – On the afternoon of October 30, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong, who is also deputy head of the Standing Board of the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control and Commander of the provincial Covid-19 Prevention and Control Command Centre, presided over a three-level (province, district and commune) teleconference to implement pandemic combat measures in the new situation.

Since October 26, the province has seen two Covid-19 outbreaks in Thuong Lan commune and at Luxshare - ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd., based in the Quang Chau Industrial Park (Viet Yen district). As many as 21 infections were detected in the Thuong Lan outbreak, with the source of infection already identified, so it has gradually been controlled. As for the outbreak at Luxshare - ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd., the source of infection has not been identified yet.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong speaks at the teleconference.

Concluding the conference, Duong assessed that the epidemic situation has changed, from outbreaks in residential areas to those in businesses and then spreading to boarding houses. He said that the outbreak in Thuong Lan commune would be controlled. Particularly, the outbreak at Luxshase - ICT Vietnam Co., Ltd. appeared in the industrial park, with a large number of workers, so it is very dangerous.

The province also quickly directed the testing of all workers in industrial park. The high proportion of vaccinated workers in the IP has minimized the spreading rate here. Therefore, initially, this outbreak was contained. Also from these two outbreaks, he assessed that the management of people returning from epidemic-hit areas was not strict.

The Chairman asked the districts and city to focus on pandemic control in industrial zones and change their mindset towards fighting the epidemic in accordance with administrative boundaries, and following the chain of enterprises, production and supply chains. In particular, in these days, it is necessary to closely monitor the number of local workers working in industrial parks in Bac Ninh province who go home during the day.

They need to combine many solutions such as testing, quarantine, communications, vaccination, and information technology application at the same time to speed up epidemic control. Duong also assigned the youth union to launch a campaign to support the entire population to install the PC-Covid application.

At any time, the districts and city must prepare quarantine areas and treatment facilities to respond to epidemic levels; while piloting home quarantine for asymptomatic patients who have received two doses of vaccine.

After listening to the reports and discussions at the event, Duong requested agencies and localities to focus on reviewing the tasks and targets that have not been fulfilled or are likely to be missed to take solutions. He urged paying attention to speeding up the progress of compensation and site clearance for projects to both implement construction and disburse public investment capital.

He agreed with the proposal of the Department of Industry and Trade on organizing an online conference to promote the consumption of orange, grapefruit and other signature products of the province, and asked the department to soon complete the plan to advise the provincial People's Committee to organize the event in the first half of November.
