Reinforcing capability of quality medical service

(BGO) - The Management Board for the Vietnam - Northern East and Red River Delta Regions Health System Support Project (Norred project) on March 6 held a meeting to review the activities in 2018 and implement the medical support in 2019.

The event was chaired by Truong Quang Vinh, Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Health in the northern province of Bac Giang, Head of the Management Board for Norred project.

The project is loaned by World Bank for execution in the period of 2013 – 2019, totally worth over 10.56 million USD. There are 5 beneficiary hospitals in the northern province of Bac Giang, including the provincial General Hospital, the General Hospitals in the districts of Tan Yen, Hiep Hoa, Yen Dung as well as the provincial Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital.

In 2018, the project provided the training course and delivered several modern techniques from the central hospital to the provincial one. Additionally, it reinforced the investment in advance equipment, supported 20 percent of the cost of the medical insurance for over 40,000 cases living in near-poor families in the province as well as organized hundreds of training courses and communication on the medical insurance policy.

Norred project targets at reinforcing the capability of the quality medical service supply system at provincial and district levels; expanding the social insurance coverage to the cases near the poverty line while improving the ability of management and instruction as well as technique delivery for the medical sector and hospitals under the project in 2019.

The execution expense is expected to hit nearly 1.1 million USD in 2019.
