After 5-year startup, the young couples become bright example who inspire the startup spirit among the youth, helping raise the position of mountainous women in socio-economic development.
Hue graduated from Thai Nguyen Medical College in 2013 then earned a living as a worker due to the poverty. In 2016, she got married with Nguyen Manh Ninh (born in 1990) who was Vice Secretary of the Youth Union in Hoi residential group in Phon Xuong town. Then he quitted the job as a worker to make herbal wine at home.
One year later, Hue applied to work as internship at a local cooperative and further research and develop her family wine toward higher income. Gradually, she acknowledged higher attention to protecting the health of family and community so she studied and brought 2,000 celastrus hindsii trees to grow in local area.
Thanks to medical knowledge gained at the college and support from the husband, Hue quickly established Thien Phu Agriculture Production, Trading and Service Cooperative in 2019 with 7 members.
The first difficulties like small market, scattered production scale, lack of workers…could not conquer the couples. The Nung young woman actively joined training courses about local economic development then applied into her startup model.
Soon the young family successfully researched and developed major product of Diep Nhat celastrus hindsii tea which was recognized as three-star product under One Commune One Product Programme (OCOP) and outstanding rural industrial product by the People’s Committee in Bac Giang province.
So far, her cooperative has had 15 members to cultivate the crop on 15 hectares. The linked production model “Diep Nhat celastrus hindsii tea” produces and consumes two tonnes of dried celastrus hindsii per year with revenue of 200 million VND.

“The Youth Union at all levels regularly create chances for exchanging among the members so as to support each other in production and business. I persuaded 15 local youths to join the economic development model under cooperative in order to create regular jobs and increase the income. I wish to encourage the bold members to start up a programme or project on the homeland,” Hue shared.
Though Ninh and Hue spend a lot of time on Youth Union activities and startup communication, they always have secret to keep the family happy. The couples believed that each person has individual view about family happiness.
