Tan Yen honors Gold Medalist at 2023 Southeast Asian Wrestling Championships

BAC GIANG - On December 19, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Yen district Ngo Quoc Hung (Bac Giang province) visited to congratulate and honor wrestler Luong Cong Quy, a member of the Vietnamese wrestling team living in Luc Lieu Duoi village, Hop Duc commune. He participated and won excellent results at the 2023 Southeast Asian Wrestling Championship.

The tournament was held in Capital Phnom Penh (Cambodia) from December 4 to 10. Participating in the tournament, the Vietnamese wrestlers competed successfully, winning 26 Gold Medals out of a total of 30 medal sets, helping the Vietnamese wrestling team rank first on the medal tally.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Yen district Ngo Quoc Hung hands over the Certificate of Merit and cash reward to wrestler Luong Cong Quy.

Contributing to the national team's achievements, wrestler Luong Cong Quy (born 2005) won the gold medal in the freestyle wrestling event in the 79 kg category and the Bronze medal in the classical wrestling event in the 82 kg category. Tan Yen District People's Committee decided to present sudden reward worth 5 million VND to the wrestler.
