Ten outstanding young faces of 2018 announced

The top ten winners of the 2018 Outstanding Young Faces and Promising Young Faces Awards were announced at a meeting in Hanoi on March 14.

The online voting for outstanding and promising youths was launched from 7pm on January 25 to midnight on March 2.

Based on the achievements of the candidates, the results of online voting and evaluation of their dossiers, the council members conducted a final vote to select outstanding and promising young faces in 2018.

Miss Vietnam H’hen Nie was selected as the 2018 winner in the culture-arts category.

The top ten outstanding youths included Miss Universe Vietnam H’ Hen Nie, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai, Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, Dr. Vong Binh Long, businesswoman Van Dinh Hong Vu, engineer Tran Van Thuyet, senior lieutenant Nguyen Van Thuan, major Le Trong Hieu, founder of G.A.P Academy Le Dinh Hieu and student Nguyen Phuong Thao.

The ten promising young faces were: businessman Ho Duc Hoan, young civil servant Nguyen Hai Long, engineer Tran Dang Khoa, businesswoman Vu Hoang Yen, athlete Bui Thi Thu Thao, professional lieutenant Vang Lao Lu, senior lieutenant Ta Van Cuong, piano prodigy Vo Minh Quang, artist Dao To Loan, and student Pham Duc Anh.

The annual awards were launched by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund.

Vietnam, EPGA work to promote golf movement among youths

15-year-old Vietnamese weightlifter, Do Tu Tung, made a strong start at the 2019 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Youth World Championships, which opened in Las Vegas, USA, on March 8 (local times), bringing home three gold medals and setting three youth world records in the men's 49kg division.
 
Communal youth union leader Tran Danh Hung honored to receive Ly Tu Trong Prize
(BGO) – Celebrating the 88th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) on March 26 (1931-2019), the HCYU Central Committee has just awarded the Ly Tu Trong Prize in 2019 to 72 outstanding youth union officials and members nationwide. Tran Danh Hung (born in 1984), Secretary of the youth union of Xuan Phu commune (Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province) was honored to receive this award. The honor ceremony is scheduled for March 24 in Ha Tinh province.
 
28 Vietnamese youth to be selected to join SSEAYP 2019
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam are in the process of selecting 28 talented Vietnamese youth to join the 46th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP) 2019.
 
Youth month 2019 focuses on community development
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU)’s Central Committee launched the youth month under the theme of “Volunteer young people for the community” and the tree planting festival during a ceremony in the south-central province of Binh Dinh on February 24.
