Tennis tournament for Vietnamese players to be held in Russia

The Vietnam Tennis Association in Russia (ViTAR) will organise the “ViTAR – Summer 2019” tournament for its members in Moscow on June 8 and 9.
The largest annual tennis tournament of the year for the overseas Vietnamese community in Russia is expected to draw the participation of almost 100 players.
The participants will compete in the men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mix doubles.

The event aims to bring together a large number of Vietnamese players from countries around the world, helping to strengthen solidarity and mutual support among overseas Vietnamese communities, promote sport practice movement and contribute to improving the physical and spiritual life of Vietnamese people.
ViTAR was established in June 2008 with the aim of gathering Vietnamese tennis players who are studying, working and residing in Russia.
Vietnam’s top tennis star Ly Hoang Nam impressively won both his singles and doubles matches at the on-going Vietnam F5 Futures tournament on November 2.
Vietnamese player Nguyen Van Phuong has reached the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles at the World Super Junior Tennis Championships in Japan with his partner Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune from Denmark.
The 32nd Open Golden Racket International Table Tennis Tournament 2018 began at Nguyen Du Gymnasium in downtown Ho Chi Minh City on July 4.
Vietnam tops the 3rd Vinh Long International Table Tennis, which wrapped up on July 1 in the southern province of Vinh Long, with three gold medals in the events of men’s doubles, women’s doubles and men’s singles.
Dinh Quang Linh, Nguyen Anh Tu, and Doan Ba Tuan Anh will represent Vietnam to compete in the third division of the 2018 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Sweden from April 29 to May 6, according to the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation.
