Than The Cong becomes outstanding Young Vietnamese Face
BAC GIANG - The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on March 18 announced the decision to recognize 10 individuals winning the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces award and 8 individuals winning the Promising Young Vietnamese Faces award in 2024.
Than The Cong (born in 2006), a 12th grader majoring in Physics of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted in 2023 – 2024 academic year is among the youths to receive the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces award in 2024.

Previously, Cong won gold medals at the International Physics Olympiad and the Asian Physics Olympiad 2024. With many outstanding achievements, in 2024, Than The Cong was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal.
Currently, Than The Cong is a student at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications (Hanoi University of Science and Technology).
This award has been held annually for the past 28 years to honor young people (under 35 years old) with outstanding achievements in the fields of study, scientific research, production labor, business start-ups, national defense, security and order, sports, culture and arts and social activities.
All the four Vietnamese students who participated in the 36th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2024) have won prizes, bringing home two golds, one silver and one bronze, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on September 6.
Vietnamese students earned two silver and three bronze medals at the 17th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 17 to 27.
