The heart of a health station head

Updated: 19:06, 15/08/2019
(BGO) - For a long time, people in Tan Tien commune, Bac Giang city (Bac Giang province) have known doctor Do Tien Khanh (born in1966 - photo) as not only a health station chief who has good professional skills and wholeheartedly works for the health of local people but also a person actively participating in humanitarian activities.

Graduating in medicine, in 1988, Do Tien Khanh returned to work at the communal health station. Seeing that he was still inexperienced in his work, he actively studied and fostered knowledge and skills to improve himself.

In August 1994, Khanh was appointed head of the communal health station when he was 28 years old. Over the past nearly 30 years, he has always devoted himself to the care and protection of people's health. He has wholeheartedly examined and treated diseases for people, and actively prevented epidemics in the locality.

Thinking that he himself must be exemplary for other people to follow, he always pioneers in everything and movements. Over the past years, the health station of Tan Tien commune has been evaluated as one of the top quality medical facilities of the city.

That achievement was made thanks to the great contribution of the health station chief. Since 2004, Tan Tien commune’s health station has been one of 18 commune and ward health stations recognized as those meeting national standards. The doctors and nurses of the station have made constant efforts to improve both professional skills and service attitude, bringing confidence to the people. They have been awarded many times by the higher levels.

The health station head Do Tien Khanh received many rewards such as: the insignia for people’s health by the Minister of Health; the certificates of merit by the Director of the provincial Department of Health and the municipal Association of Oriental Medicine...

In addition to professional duties, doctor Khanh has actively participated in humanitarian activities for the community, including five voluntary blood donations. Studying and following Uncle Ho's example, he saved 3,000 VND a day or over 1 million VND a year to support the local "For the Poor" Fund.

He shared that: "I want to contribute a small part to sharing difficulties and helping those who are less fortunate in society."
