Could you give your preliminary evaluation of the results of the freshly concluded Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Culture-Tourism Week themed "Exploring the sacred land of Tay Yen Tu”?

This was the first time the province had held the Culture-Tourism Week on a wide area (four districts and Bac Giang city), with many activities taking place for several days in various locations. It mobilized the involvement of authorities at different levels, many sectors and agencies; drew many visitors; and achieved the goals set in the plan.

The first and most important result is the promotion of cultural heritage and tourism potential, especially spiritual tourism associated with the Dharma spreading the path of King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong, to people in the province and across the country as well as international visitors. The event also created a breakthrough in tourist attraction, thus making Tay Yen Tu (Western Yen Tu) spiritual-cultural tourism an important tourism product of the province.

In general, the festival’s activities were held seriously and joyfully, with positive changes in the consciousness and behavior of participants. The order-security, sanitation, food safety and hygiene were guaranteed, with no superstition phenomenon.

The Culture-Tourism Week has helped stimulate and create sustainable development linkages among localities in the province and between Bac Giang and other provinces. It connected culture and tourism in the Yen Tu region (Quang Ninh, Hai Duong and Bac Giang provinces) as well as affirmed Bac Giang as a safe, civilized, friendly and hospitable destination, thereby continuing to attract resources for development.

Looking back at the whole process of organizing the festival and the culture - tourism week, what are the problems that need to be fixed for a better future organization?

Besides the achieved critical results, the organizers found that it is necessary to withdraw experience in a number of issues related to coordination among agencies, units and localities. At some relic sites, thousands of people arrived at the same time, with many vehicles, but the arrangement of parking areas for cars and buses remained weak. This fact shows that agencies, units and localities concerned need to withdraw experience for better organization in the future.

What does Bac Giang province look towards after the event?

The event is the first step for the province to be more confident in organizing the following events with a larger scale in terms of space and time. It helped the province promote tourism development investment projects and transportation projects connecting tourist sites of Bac Giang and other provinces in the region; build tourism products and supporting ones; and continue perfecting the existing tourist sites. Through the event, the province introduced and promoted the attractive and outstanding cultural values of its tourism resources, especially the cultural space of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu region, creating a breakthrough in attracting tourism investment and tourists.

Visitors flock to Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival.

Recently, Bac Giang province has continuously organized important activities such as the investment promotion conference at the end of 2018 and the Culture-Tourism Week, among others. In the coming time, what plans and solutions the province will have to boost tourism development?

In 2018, the province attracted 16 projects with a total registered capital of over 15 billion USD. In the time to come, the province will continue to work with investors to realize registered projects. At present, project owners are accelerating the surveying and making of investment projects. Some of them have been implemented in reality.

The province will collaborate with the Tran Nhan Tong Institute to promote archaeological research and restoration of the religious practice road of King-MonkTran Nhan Tong and relic sites on this path in order to shape a concrete tourism route.

The Culture-Tourism Week will be organized annually to maintain and promote cultural values, along with activities to attract tourists and improve the cultural and spiritual life of local people.

Tay Yen Tu cable car inaugurated on second day of Lunar New Year

(BGO) – On the occasion of the Launching ceremony of Spring festival and Tay Yen Tu Culture-Tourism Week 2019, Tay Yen Tu Joint Stock Company planned to inaugurate the cable car system from Ha (Lower) pagoda in Tuan Mau commune, Son Dong district (Bac Giang province) to the peak of Yen Tu mountain (about 700 meters away from Dong pagoda) on February 6 (second day of the Lunar New Year).
