The event was chaired by Le Anh Duong, PPC Vice Chairman; Tran Minh Ha, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ngo Dinh Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communication. The Culture Tourism Week is scheduled to take place from February 14 – 20 (January 10-16 on the lunar calendar, Year of the Pig). The event is held to introduce and promote the unique cultural identities, highlight values on provincial tourism potential, especially the cultural space - Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhist Zen while drawing various sources and linking the culture – tourism in Yen Tu area (Quang Ninh – Hai Duong – Bac Giang).

The key activities included Buddhist statue possession (form the root pagoda Vinh Nghiem to the Upper pagoda in Tay Yen Tu); inauguration ceremony for the first phase of Tay Yen Tu Spiritual Ecological Tourism Site; launching ceremony of the first photo contest of “7 days to discover the holy land Tay Yen Tu”; exhibition and introduction of the woodblocks in Vinh Nghiem pagoda – World Documentary Heritage in Asia Pacific region and conference to develop Tay Yen Tu tourism products among others.

At the conference, the Organization Board spent time on discussing and informing about several issues concerned by the reporters such as the Emperor Tran Nhan Tong’s Journey to Become a Buddha; the project construction progress at Tay Yen Tu ecological tourism site, especially services for tourists; implementation of smart travel portal….

According to the organization board, the project items are under active execution with many completed sections. The cable car system was completed and put in operation. The smart travel portal was confirmed as a key issue to which the local authority has paid due attention, targetting to sufficiently provide the information about the provincial tourism on the smartphone to facilitate the travelers.

Addressing at the event, PPC Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong highly evaluated the participation of the reporters and press agencies. He pressed that the issues raised by the reporters are correct to help the province complete the goals and solution to develop the tourism in the coming time.

Regarding the journey of Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong, the historical references and survey proved that the Tay Yen Tu route from Vinh Nghiem pagoda to Dong pagoda is the religious path of the great Emperor. Preserving the religious path was the target that has been actively executed by the local authority. The Culture and Tourism Week was the initial step to gradually promote the unique tourism products to a worthy level.

According to Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong, Tay Yen Tu spiritual ecological tourism site welcomed more than 200,000 tourists in the first launching season 2018. A sharp increase in the number of visitors is expected to the Culture and Tourism Week this year; hence the province is implementing all conditions to fully meet the tourists’ demand. He hoped that the press agencies and reporters will accompany the event and Bac Giang tourism in the coming time.

(BGO) – Le phat moc (wood logging ritual) was held on April 13 by the Construction Management Board (CMB) of Tay Yen Tu spiritual cultural site at the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Phu Ninh commune, Soc Son district (Hanoi) to build Thuong dien (Upper sanctuary) of Ha pagoda (Lower pagoda) in Tuan Mau commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province.
