Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival opens
People flock to the spring festival
On the morning of February 16, the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Culture-Tourism Week officially opened at Hoang Thanh Square of the Tay Yen Tu spiritual-ecological tourist area.

Attending the opening ceremony were Pham The Duyet, former standing member of the Politburo and former Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; representatives of leaders of ministries, central-level agencies and provinces: Bui Van Hai, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Linh, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Le Thi Thu Hong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; and leaders of the province’s departments, districts and Bac Giang city...
From the early morning, tens of thousands of tourists and Buddhist followers in and outside the province came to attend the opening ceremony. People flocked to the Ha (Lower) Pagoda to worship and pray for peace.
Next, they moved to the cable car station to get to the Thuong (Upper) Pagoda and the Dong Pagoda to kowtow to the Buddha. A day earlier, the provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Thuong Pagoda (or Linh Thong Pagoda) on the sacred Tay Yen Tu Mountain.

The Cultural and Tourism Camp has been organized with the participation of communes and townships in Son Dong district, with many cultural and art activities, making the atmosphere more exciting.
On this occasion, visitors from across the country also visited the display area of "the cultural space of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist sect in Tay Yen Tu" with more than 200 valuable objects unearthed during the process of studying King-Monk Tran Hoang Tran's religious practice path and the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Buddhist sect. Besides, visitors also had a chance to contemplate more than 100 photos at an exhibition titled "Bac Giang - my hometown".
Developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector
At exactly 9:30 am, a sacred and solemn moment when Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Linh announced the opening of the festival; Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Secretary Bui Van Hai beat the drum; and Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, struck the gong.

Next, a special art programme themed "the sacred Tay Yen Tu" was staged by over 200 singers, actors
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Linh emphasized that the opening ceremony of the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and the Culture-Tourism Week is a typical event to introduce and promote the unique and outstanding cultural values of the province’s tourism resources to tourists in and outside the province. It is one of the activities responding to the National Tourism Year Nha Trang 2019 and the National Tourism Year Ninh Binh 2020.
During this time, many special and attractive activities are scheduled to take place, thereby contributing to promoting the province’s tourism development linkage with the whole country and foreign nations as well as connecting with tourism and travel enterprises to continue calling for investment, striving to build tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the province. He pledged that the province will create all conditions for organizations and individuals to invest in local tourism development.
Tay Yen Tu includes a system of historical and cultural relic sites and landscapes located in the west of Yen Tu Mountain, stretching from Son Dong district through Luc Ngan and Luc Nam districts to Yen Dung district. It also features the Dharma spreading road of King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong.

The restoration, preservation
In 2014, the provincial People's Committee held a stone-laying ceremony to start construction of the Tay Yen Tu spiritual-ecological tourist area, whose first phase has been basically completed.
