Xuong Giang Festival listed as national intangible cultural heritage

BAC GIANG- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has decided to add
36 heritages into the list of national intangible cultural heritages including
Xuong Giang festival in Bac Giang city, the northern province of Bac Giang.
Xuong Giang festival is held annually in early spring (on the 6th
and 7th lunar January) to celebrate the Chi Lang- Xuong Giang
Victory in 1427.
The Xuong Giang Victory relic site in Bac Giang city was ranked as a special national relic site by the Prime Minister in 2019 and it was recognized a tourism site by the provincial People’s Committee in 2020.

Xuong Giang festival is one of the biggest and wide-spread festivals in Bac Giang. The festival space is not only in the surrounding areas of Xuong Giang citadel such as Thanh (the wall) village, Ve (painting) village and Hoa Yen village but it also spreads to other wards in Bac Giang city. The heart of the festival is the special national relic site of Xuong Giang Victory in Xuong Giang ward.
