The delegation, led by Lou Xiaojuan, head of the department’s ASEAN Trade Committee, was welcomed by leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade and a number of businesses and cooperatives in the province.

At the meeting, Tran Quang Tan, Director of the Bac Giang department, expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation, saying the visit helps improve the effectiveness of economic-trade and investment ties, creating a solid foundation for developing relations between the two localities.

In recent years, with the attention of the Department of Trade and border gate management agencies of Yunnan province, Bac Giang province's products, especially lychee, have been exported to the Chinese market smoothly.

Many Chinese machinery products and raw materials serving industrial production in Bac Giang province have experienced quick customs clearance, contributing to increasing the export and import turnover of Bac Giang province, he said.

He hoped that businesses of the two provinces will increase exchanges, seek information, and explore investment cooperation opportunities in the fields of industrial production, food processing, and trading of agricultural products.

For her part, Lou expressed her joy when visiting Bac Giang province, saying industrial production in Bac Giang is developing strongly and many Chinese enterprises have come to invest in the province.

Highlighting the two localities’ similarities, she said in recent years, the two sides have actively implemented exchange and cooperation activities on agriculture under cooperation agreements, organised study tours to exchange production experience, and cooperated in transferring science and technology in growing fruit trees.

At the meeting, businesses from both sides discussed, introduced, and shared their organizational models and operation situations; and explored opportunities for business and investment cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to maintain regular visits and contacts between their agencies and businesses; actively hold talks to exchange cooperation plans; provide information about goods and export and import policies; strengthen friendship and cooperation, and promote trade exchanges.
