18 health workers honored for donating blood to save patients

(BGO) – The Department
of Health in Bac Giang province on September 28 presented a sudden reward to
doctor Nguyen Tien Thanh (born in 1991), General Department of Surgery (Medical
Center in Yen The district, Bac Giang province).
On September 13, the pregnant patient Nguyen Thi Bich in Phon Xuong town (Yen The district) was hospitalized and diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy that was broken leading to serious blooding and life threat.

At that time, the district medical center did not have enough reserve blood of O group for the patient. Doctor Thanh on the duty shift voluntarily donated 350ml of blood to save the patient. Currently, Bich is under stable health condition and discharged from the hospital.
According to the Department of Health, 18 health workers have been honored for recent 9 months for their good deed of donating blood to save the patients.

The seventh “Red Journey” Programme 2020 and Voluntary Blood Donation (VBD) Festival
themed “Affectionate Pink Drop” on July 19 were jointly held at the Bac Giang
provincial Labour Culture Building by the provincial Steering Committee for VBD,
Organization Board of National Red Journey and National Institute of
Haematology and Blood Transfusion.

day by day to save the patients. Family of Nguyen Thi Oanh (born in 1986) in
Trai Noi village, Dinh Tri commune, Bac Giang city (Bac Giang province) is one
of the outstanding models.

Bac Giang province on June 15 organized a meeting to honor the exemplary models
in patriotic emulation in the period 2015 – 2020.
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh praised and recognised the noble gesture and spirit of sharing of volunteer blood donors at a meeting with 100 outstanding blood donors of 2020 held at the Presidential Office on June 11.

provincial People’s Committee has decided to bestow the Certificate of Merit to
11 organizations, 12 families and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements
in blood donation and appeal for voluntary blood donation campaign.
