362 billion VND spent on Tet gifts to revolution contributors

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to empower the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to submit its proposal on Lunar New Year (Tet) gifts to revolution contributors to the State President.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has proposed presenting cash gifts worth of 400,000 VND and 200,000 VND to those who rendered services to the nation’s revolution.

The gifts are estimated to be worth over 362 billion VND (15.5 million USD).
According to the Ministry, as of the end of 2017, 9 million people were recognized as revolutionary contributors, including 1.2 million fallen soldiers, 127,000 heroic mothers and 800,000 wounded and sick soldiers.
