98.6% of Bac Giang children vaccinated against measles
BAC GIANG - According to the Bac Giang provincial Center for Disease Control, after 13 days of implementing the measles vaccination campaign for children (from March 19 to 31), the whole province vaccinated more than 18,000 children from 6 months to 10 years old, reaching 98.6%.
Amid the complicated development of measles epidemic, on January 22, 2025, the Ministry of Health issued a plan to implement the measles vaccination campaign in 2025, focusing on vaccinating infants from 6 months to under 9 months old and children from 1 to 10 years old.

In Bac Giang, after screening, the whole province has 18,410 children in the target group, 6,427 of whom are from 6 months to less than 9 months old, the rest are from 1 to 5 years old and 6 to 10 years old.
Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Health, on February 14, 2025, the Department of Health launched a measles vaccination campaign in the province for target groups, striving to vaccinate 95% of children of the right age.
The campaign was carried out in two phases. Through two phases, the whole province had 18,150 children of the right age vaccinated, reaching 98.6%, exceeding the set target. Of which, the vaccination rate for infant from 6 months to under 9 months reached 99.9%, the group from 1 to 5 years old reached 98.1% and the group from 6 to 10 years old reached 97.9%.
According to the provincial Center for Disease Control, since the beginning of the year, the province has recorded 142 positive cases of measles, an increase of 142 cases compared to the same period in 2024.
