Bac Giang athlete wins golden hat trick and breaks SEA Games’ record
The Bac Giang players hit the finished line after 9 minutes and 52.46 seconds, breaking the her previous SEA Games’ record at a time of 10 minutes 2 seconds.

Her teammate Nguyen Thi Huong came second and bagged silver medal. The bronze was awarded to Joida Gagnao Gadot of the Philippines.
Oanh made hat trick of golds after two competition days. Previously, she won golds at women’s 1,500m and 3,000m running events.

Nguyen Thi Oanh was born in 1995 in Bac Giang. She started following professional athletics at the age of 15 and suffered from critical disease with risk of early retirement. However, with extraordinary energy, the Bac Giang girl overcome difficulties to conquer more high peaks of her career.
