On behalf of the Bac Giang provincial leader, Lai Thanh Son briefed the participants on the recent outstanding results of socio-economic development in Bac Giang province.

Bac Giang and Bac Ninh share Cau river. Though several bridges were built, the bilateral trade activities are still limited, hence yet to tap the potentials for mutual development.

To enhance the linkage between the provinces, Bac Giang PPC suggested to plan and invest to build two bridges over Cau river to connect the belt road No.4 between Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces.

The first bridge will link Viet Yen district to the North East urban area of Bac Ninh city with total length of 600 meters and frontage road of 2,300 meters. It is constructed with stressed reinforced concrete of 15 meter width with the road surface of 22.3 meters and total investment of some 430 billion VND (18.4 million USD).

The second bridge will connect Hiep Hoa district with Yen Phong industrial park in Yen Phong district (Bac Ninh province) with total length of 560 meters and frontage road at both sides of 1,780 meters. It totally costs of 330 billion VND (14.1 million USD).

To ease the project implementation and ensure the synchronous structure with investment effectiveness, Bac Giang PPC urged Bac Ninh PPC to finalize the planning method and position to build two bridges over Cau river.

Regarding the investment, Bac Giang province proposes to build the frontage and a bridge while Bac Ninh province will be in charge of the other in the period 2020 – 2022.

After listening to the discussion from the departments and sectors of two provinces, the Chairwoman of Bac Ninh PPC expressed her high agreement with the policy to build two bridges and requested the organizations to further review then propose the most suitable methods toward long term use and future development of two provinces which will be the base to submit to Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board for consideration and approval.

Speaking at the event, Bac Giang PPC Chairman Duong Van Thai agreed with the opinion from the leaders of Bac Ninh province. He urged the departments and sectors in two provinces to make more thorough research to define the most suitable route, position and scale for the project.

Besides, two provinces should input the bridge projects and frontage roads into the list of investment and capital distribution while promptly completing the procedures to prepare the investment to promote the effectiveness of the whole traffic system in two provinces.

Making products from small-leaf polyscias fruticosa: New direction in development of medicinal plants

(BGO) - With the goal of creating some products from small-leaf polyscias fruticosa, in 2018, the Bac Giang Agriculture and Forestry University was approved by the province to implement the project "Application of science and technology in growing small-leaf polyscias fruticosa”. After more than two years of implementation, the project has given certain results, opening up a new direction for development of medicinal plants in the locality.
