Bac Giang exporters make breakthroughs

(BGO) - With the determination to overcome difficulties and continue to keep growth momentum, right from the year beginning, many enterprises in Bac Giang province have focused their resources to invest in machinery and technology to accelerate production. As a result, many orders signed with partners have been fulfilled on time, contributing to increasing the export turnover of the province.

Expanding production scale

These days, thousands of workers of Bac Giang LNG Garment Corporation Joint Stock Company in Luc Nam district are busy completing clothing products at sewing lines to promptly deliver to their partners.

Chairman of company Hoang Van Luoc said: “Right in the first month of this year, the company signed many orders with foreign partners. In January alone, it shipped 20 containers of clothing to foreign markets, earning more than 3 million USD in turnover”.

This year, the firm invested more than 100 billion VND (4.26 million USD) in building a new 22,000sq.m warehouse and installing 10 more production lines to expand scale and improve product quality, thus meeting customer requirements. .

Employees of Bac Giang Import-Export Joint Stock Company in Bac Giang City are also rushing to work. Earlier this year, the unit signed a 180 billion VND (7.67 million USD) contract to buy a modern European paper production line, with a capacity of 18,000 tons per year.

By the end of January, the company had exported nearly 3,000 tons of paper to many markets including the US, Australia, Singapore and the UK, an increase of hundreds of tons compared to the same period last year. This year, it strives to export 30,000 tons of paper of all kinds, with an estimated value of 35 million USD, up 20% year-on-year.

Not only domestic companies, FDI enterprises in industrial parks such as Van Trung, Quang Chau, Dinh Tram, Song Khe - Noi Hoang and Hoa Phu have also focused on production since the beginning of the year with many new orders.

According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in January, thanks to solutions to speed up production and business, businesses have contributed to increasing the province’s export turnover to nearly 1.7 billion USD, a 16.4% increase over the same period last year.

Streamlining administrative procedures, providing timely support

To fulfill this year’s export turnover target of more than 27 billion USD, a year-on-year rise of about 19%, the province has been implementing many synchronous solutions.

With the determination to raise the export turnover in the coming time, the province has created favorable conditions for enterprises, especially FDI ones, to restore production, thereby increasing export orders. At the same time, it has encouraged businesses to increase investment capital, and expand factories and production lines. In January, Bac Giang approved capital raising plans for eight FDI and domestic projects with an additional capital of more than 91 million USD and more than 500 billion VND, respectively.

Along with the above solutions, the province has directed specialized agencies, districts and city to reduce administrative procedures to help businesses access land quickly for factory expansion. It has also set up working groups to coordinate with competent agencies at the border gates to support enterprises in carrying out customs procedures.

Special attention has been paid to improving the business and investment environment, and enhancing national competitiveness. In addition, relevant agencies have been making efforts to accompany and support businesses.

According to Tran Quang Tan, Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, this year, the unit will make forecasts of export market demand and situation for enterprises; and apply cross-border e-commerce methods to help firms with export promotion. The department will prioritize industrial promotion funds for enterprises to apply new technologies, improve product competitiveness, and develop processing and manufacturing industries.
