Thanks to due attention and direction from provincial leaders together with high determination and responsibility of departments, sectors and agencies, the local preparation and organization were done on schedule to serve the event with high quality and safety.

Central and provincial leaders hand over Certificate of Merit bestowed by Chairman of People’s Committee in Bac Giang province to outstanding coaches and athletes of Bac Giang province at SEA Games 31.

Apart from sport delegations of eight participating countries, Bac Giang welcomed many reporters from domestic and foreign press agents as well as thousands of spectators. All communication, reception, preparation, security, medical tasks were implemented effectively and carefully.

Speaking at the ceremony, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong and Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Tran Duc Phan affirmed success organization of SEA Games in Bac Giang together with 11 host provinces and cities nationwide.

The leaders praised and honored local organization committee of Badminton at SEA Games 31, organizations and individuals for the great contribution to the above mentioned success.

The result helped prove provincial capability to manage and host regional and international sport events as the important premise to host bigger event in the future while leaving good impression on domestic and foreign friends about a hospitable and friendly Bac Giang.

Bac Giang athletes won 5 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at the Games. Particularly track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh broke SEA Games record that she created 3 years ago and was named as one of four best athletes at SEA Games 31.

Congratulating and honoring the achievement of Bac Giang sport delegation at the event, PPC Chairman urged the levels, sectors and localities to pay more attention to developing the sports, especially focal investment and launch more movement sports events to detect and train upcoming talents toward higher results at regional and international arena.

He also ordered the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to consult the provincial leaders about sport development strategy that suits to actual requirement in the future.

The PPC Chairman took the occasion to grant Certificate of Merit to two Bac Giang coaches and eight athletes with excellent result at SEA Games 31; 85 organizations and individuals with outstanding achievement in organizing badminton event at the Games.

The provincial Women’s Union granted Certificate of Merit to seven female medalists at SEA Games 31 while the provincial Study Encouragement Association, People’s Committee in Lang Giang district, 379 Investment Joint Stock Company (Bac Giang city) and many enterprises handed over gifts to the coaches and athletes.
