To prepare for exporting Danh mountain ginseng, Tan Yen district determined to ensure large raw material area with high quality. Accordingly, the district launched the project to develop Danh mountain ginseng in local area during 2022-2027 period and focused on directing growers to follow linked chains and strict production process.

So far, the whole district has had 125 hectares of Danh mountain ginseng (reaching 83% of the project target); nearly 70 hectares of which are concentratedly planted (over 0.5 hectares), mainly in Viet Lap, Lien Chung, Phuc Hoa communes and Cao Thuong town. Most ginseng is grown according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards while 9 hectares were granted with planting area code.

The big and quality raw material area well meets the market requirements. In addition to consuming fresh flowers and roots, Danh mountain ginseng is also processed into many products such as ginseng wine brewed from roots and flowers, ginseng flower tea, soluble ginseng tea, ginseng herbal shampoo and ginseng juice among others.

According to Ngo Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of the Tan Yen district People's Committee, to develop Danh mountain ginseng sustainably, it is necessary to have a stable consumer market. In particular, with its outstanding advantages, this plant also has the potential to export and conquer demanding markets, which can be realized by active active participation from businessess.

At the end of March, the District People's Committee held a conference to connect and promote the consumption of Danh mountain ginseng. Many production linkage chains between people, businesses and cooperatives were consolidated and newly formed.

Some typical enterprises and cooperatives have production links with growers such as: King GinSeng Danh Mountain Ginseng Joint Stock Company, Thin Dung Agricultural Services Company Limited, Duc Hanh Danh Mountain Ginseng Cooperative (Tan Yen), Trang An Pharmaceutical Company Limited (Ninh Binh)…

To meet the strict technical barriers of importing countries, in the coming time, party committees, local authorities, functional sectors, cooperatives and ginseng growing households will pay more attention to scaling up the area along with preserving precious seed sources, controlling water source quality, maintaining soil nutrition, well cultivating to create the best products.

Currently, specialized agencies of the province and Tan Yen district have issued 3 more ginseng growing area codes with a total area of ​​nearly 4 hectares. At the same time, the locality is ready to create favorable conditions for businesses to expand production, conduct deep processing, promote consumption and exploit both domestic and international markets.
