Updated: 07:43, 24/10/2020
(BGO) - These days, agencies, units, localities, organizations and individuals in Bac Giang province are actively mobilizing resources for the provincial Fund for the Poor and people in central flood-hit areas. Urgently supporting natural disaster-affected areas

Recently, heavy rains and floods in the central provinces have been developing complicatedly, causing great human and property damage and seriously affecting people's lives. Ngo Sy Long, head of the Mass Mobilization Commission of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Giang city said since 2015, the total resources for the city's social security programmes have hit over 50 billion VND (many times higher than the targets). Not only taking care of the poor in the city, every year, local associations and unions also care for difficult cases inside and outside the province.

The local business community has made great contributions. Ha Ngoc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Import and Export Joint Stock Company, said that since 2015, the company has donated nearly 3 billion VND (129,600 USD) for social security activities in the province. So far this year, it has provided nearly 1 billion VND for the poor and for pandemic prevention and control.
