Bac Giang promotes cooperation in lychee processing and export to the US and environmental treatment

(BGO)- On March 18 afternoon, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong chaired a meeting with representatives of Emission Resource Group (ERG, USA), Sun Hee DC Group Investment Trade Import-Export Distribution Joint Stock Company (Sun Hee DC Group) and Vietnam Post to boost cooperation in lychee consumption and processing and waste treatment.

Speaking at the event, the provincial Chairman Le Anh Duong thanked for the attention of the corporations and enterprises to Bac Giang province. He also briefed the participants on potentials and advantages of the province. The provincial Chairman stressed, Bac Giang is an open economy where is home to several big and multinational corporations with effective operation.

In line with industrial development, the province attaches special importance on development of traditional farm products including lychee. Currently, lychee product is protected in many countries. The province focuses on production of safe lychee with hundreds of hectares of growing area for export.

Le Anh Duong expected this meeting will open up the doors for cooperation with the corporations and enterprises to bring more lychee and farm products of Bac Giang to the US market and boost intensive processing.

Mentioning the environmental treatment, the provincial Chairman informed, the province has 6 ongoing industrial parks with the volume of household waste reaching 950 tonnes per day but the province has not accessed to modern treatment technologies. He stressed, the province is willing to cooperate, seek for partners and apply modern waste treatment technologies and systems.

Representative of the corporations thanked for the hostile reception of the provincial leaders and he expressed his impression on the advantages and potentials of the province. Besides, he discussed the plan to promote consumption and processing of lychee and introduced Olivine waste-to-energy technology, a modern waste treatment technology with many outstanding advantages.

The corporations and enterprises hoped for cooperation to export and build an intensive processing plant to sell more lychee and other farm products of Bac Giang to the US market. Besides, they requested the province to facilitate cooperation for implementation of the most modern waste treatment technology of the US in Bac Giang.

Concluding the meeting, the provincial Chairman Le Anh Duong assigned the related departments, agencies and localities to boost cooperation in producing and packaging lychee product and attract the modern waste treatment technology of the US to Bac Giang province in coming time.
