Recently, Bac Giang province has gained strong and firm development. The economic growth rate annually ranks in top leading provinces and cities nationwide. In April, the province secured second ranking in term of direct investment attraction with industrial production value of over 160 trillion VND (6.8 billion USD), up 14.9 percent year on year.

Currently, the province is preparing for lychee season. Local authority proposed Government to direct the central ministries and sectors to support the province in connecting, boosting the consumption and export of lychee and other farm produce.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong suggested the Minister to direct Vietnam Power Group and Northern Power Corporation to review, adjust and supplement the development planning of power distribution system so as to suit the approved provincial planning.

The Minister was recommended to accelerate investment in power station to meet the electric demand in the provincial industrial parks, at first the substation with qualified capacity for Yen Lu and Tan Hung industrial parks.

After listening to the report and proposal from Bac Giang province, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated the provincial achievement in production, business, public investment, infrastructure construction, import and export. He ordered the province to continue well communicating and effectively implementing the resolutions, decrees and instructions from Central, National Assembly, Government and province so as to fulfil all set socio-economic targets.

Regarding lychee consumption, the Minister requested the Trade Promotion Agency to calculate and assist Bac Giang to export lychee via official channels. The working delegation received other proposals from the province then reported to Government in the upcoming time.

Previously, the working delegation inspected the investment project execution and production facilities at Luxshare – ICT Van Trung Company Limited and social housing project for worker in Nenh township new urban area in Viet Yen district.
