Accompanying the youth, recently the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Bac Giang province (Youth Union) has launched various activities to support startup in connection with digital transformation, including “The youth startup with digital transformation” programme, cooperation with the Youth Union in Vietnam Post Corporation about consuming lychee and other signature farm produce of Bac Giang on electronic commercial platform (e-commercial platform).

Besides, they offered training course, delivered science and technology into production, opened classes on business startup and management.

With the creative and renovative spirit, many local young people have applied technologies in managing the operation, producing to enhance the product quality, selling product on e-commercial platform with initial success.

Typically, Nguyen Thi Hoa (born in 1990) in Luc Ha village, Tan Trung commune (Tan Yen district) boldly applied for bank loan to buy modern production line to produce traditional waffle and rice noodle.

Moreover, Ho Kieu Oanh in Nam Duong commune (Luc Ngan district) is famous on e-commercial platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Sendo for her creative product of veggie and root noodles.

Besides, Ong The Dung (born in 1994) is now director of Truong Tho Herbal Company Limited in Dong Hung commune (Luc Nam district) with success in cordyceps farming project. Apart from skill and knowledge, it is really necessary to apply technology and modern equipment into production. In early 2023, he invested to buy more machineries and equipment for production, helping triple the productivity.

Pham Thi Thuy Quynh (born in 1986) in Bac Giang city has her own way. After acknowledging high shipping demand due to online business development, in April 2022 she established “Hoa Huong Duong ship service”. Now it has more than 40 members following working shifts in Bac Giang city and some adjacent districts.

Differing from other shipping agents, “Hoa Huong Duong Ship service” offers express delivery service within a day such as receiving and shipping, buying processed food stuff and goods, taking old person to hospital for health checkup among others.

All the operational procedure is done on zalo and office management. “Hoa Huong Duong Ship service” delivers more than 10,000 orders per month, helping create job and stable income of 7 – 9 million VND per person per month.

The statistic proved that Bac Giang now has more than 1,400 cooperatives, alliances and youth business models with effective operation. To assist the youth startup, apply digital transformation, science and technology into production and business, the province has issued many supporting policies and resolutions.

On November 4, 2021, the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) issued Plan to support creative startup ecosystem in 2021 – 2025 period. During this time, the PPC allocated 5.2 billion VND from the budget for implementation.

On April 20, 2022, PPC Chairman approved for the Project “Improving the digital capability for the youth and teenager, promoting the pioneer role of the youth union in digital transformation in 2022 – 2025 period in Bac Giang”. It aims to enhance the digital capability, apply modern science and technology of the youths who are owners of the agricultural economic model, telecommunication company and manufacturing business.

The Project helps to develop smart agriculture, apply technology to automate the production, business, management, origin traceability and product supply chain as well as link e-commerce, promote and consume farm produce on digital platforms.

Digitalization of fruit growing areas facilitates product management and traceability

(BGO)- After more than 1 year implementing the project to support sustainable development of fruit trees, the competent agencies in northern province of Bac Giang have digitalized 129 concentrated production areas. This year, the sub-department of Plant Protection (under the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) has digitalized 80 more planting areas, which is defined its key task.

Digital transformation in Bac Giang: changes from two model communes
