The highest tax revenue ever

In 2019, the local tax sector was assigned to make a budget revenue estimate of more than 6.8 trillion VND. According to a representative of the provincial Tax Department, by the end of the year, the province collected 10.5 trillion VND in taxes, surpassing the yearly estimate by 54 percent, not to mention the import and export tax revenue of about 1.3 trillion VND.

Ha Phong Export Garment Joint Stock Company (Hiep Hoa district) is one of the enterprises awarded by the tax sector for its high contribution to the provincial budget.

This revenue nearly doubled the target set by the Resolution of the 18th provincial Party Congress for the end of the 2015-2020 term, marking a new "milestone" that named Bac Giang in the club of localities with tax revenue of over 10 trillion VND in the taxation system nationwide.

The highlight is that the tax-related targets have been fulfilled and exceeded the assigned estimates. Out of 16 budget collection targets, 11 surpassed the estimates.

Luong Van Binh, head of the Tax Sub-department of Lang Giang-Luc Nam region, said since the beginning of the year, the division has collected about 15 billion VND from granting mining rights. In Luc Nam district, the Hop Nhat Joint Stock Company in Luc Son commune paid about 3 billion VND for coal mining right.

Notably, the province had eight out of 10 districts and city with total revenue higher than the estimate by 20-179 percent such as Lang Giang, Viet Yen, Yen Dung, Luc Nam, Luc Ngan, Tan Yen and Hiep Hoa districts and Bac Giang city. Typically, Bac Giang city collected nearly 2.5 trillion VND, Viet Yen more than 1.7 trillion VND, Yen Dung over 800 billion VND, Lang Giang about 600 billion VND. Son Dong and Yen The districts basically completed tax-related targets.

Strict control of taxes

To obtain the above impressive budget collection results, from the beginning of the year, the provincial People's Committee assigned specific estimates to the tax sector in association with the central task for the head to focus on directing increasing State budget revenue and settling outstanding debts.

Thong Nhat Trading and Service Joint Stock Company (Lang Giang district) contributes billions of dong to the budget each year.

Pham Van Thinh, Director of the provincial Tax Department, said that on the basis of the assigned revenue, the department has reviewed and allocated specific collection targets to its branches. 

The department has carried out synchronous solutions for revenue management, periodically evaluated collection results, commended and rewarded branches with high collection results. For those which had limited revenue, the department has reminded them and dispatched officials to coordinate in solving problems.

In addition, the department has strengthened the inspection and examination, and drastically implemented measures to combat State budget revenue loss. It has devised specific debt recovery plans; reviewed and classified debts; and assigned monthly tax collection targets to each section and each officer to analyze, evaluate and propose tax collection measures, striving to ensure tax debts according to criteria of the General Department of Taxation are less than 5 percent of the total revenue.

Along with the above solutions, the specialized divisions of the provincial Tax Department and its district, city and regional branches have strictly controled tax declaration and refund dossiers while hastening enterprises’ declaration of arising taxes.

The tax sector has also publicized administrative procedures and promoted communications to remove difficulties for taxpayers; and supported the use of electronic tax payment software to shorten time. 

Every year, the department holds conferences praising outstanding enterprises and individuals for tax payment in order to promptly encourage them. Businesses have made efforts in production and business, thus increasing revenues for the provincial budget.

Many effective firms paying high taxes

Bac Giang honors 114 good tax payers

(BGO) – The Department of Tax (DoT) in the northern province of Bac Giang on August 8 held a meeting to honor 144 outstanding organizations and individuals as good taxpayers who fully satisfied their tax obligations in 2017 with Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee in attendance.

Vietnam’s 1,000 biggest tax payers announced

The 1,000 biggest tax payers in Vietnam in 2017 contributed more than 110 trillion VND (4.72 billion USD) to the State budget, increasing 8.45 percent from the previous year, and accounting for 63 percent of total tax contributions.

eTax service application: Double benefits

(BGO) – Along with 12 cities and provinces nationwide, from May 7, 2018, the northern province of Bac Giang has applied the electronic tax (eTax) service (also called centralized one-stop-shop eTax) in all businesses in the locality, replacing the old tax system.
