(BGO) – Chanh Thu Fruit Import Export
Company Limited (Ben Tre province) has inked the contract to buy over 100
tonnes of lychee grown in more than 10 hectares in the communes of Tan Son and
Nam Duong (Luc Ngan district) and Phuc Hoa (Tan Yen district) to export to
Japanese market.
The fruit is purchased at 30,000 VND (1.28 USD) per kg. The whole lychee area is cultivated under GlobalGAP procedure. Currently, the lychee is at early fruiting stage and scheduled to harvest on May 24.

Besides, Ameii Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Toan Cau Import Export Joint Stock Company have reviewed the cultivation area and inked specific contract to buy lychee with the orchard owners in the upcoming time.
The province now has 103 hectares with 19 growing area codes to export to Japan in several communes of Hong Giang, Nam Duong, Tan Son, Quy Son, Giap Son, Ho Dap (Luc Ngan district) and Phuc Hoa (Tan Yen district) with 107 participating households.
The orchard owners have remained 218 hectares of lychee that are eligible to export to several markets of Australia, the UK and US with 18 growing area codes in the communes of Hong Giang, Giap Son, Quy Son and Tan Moc (Luc Ngan district).
MARD Minister urges Bac Giang to focus on safe livestock recovery, lychee export
(BGO) - A working
delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) headed
by Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong on April 26 organized a field inspection to and meeting
with Bac Giang province about livestock development and farm produce
consumption. The delegation was welcomed by Bui Van Hai, member of the
Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and
Chairman of the provincial People's Council.
Bac Giang estimates to harvest 45,000 tonnes of early ripen lychee

province grows more than 6,000 ha of early ripen lychee in the districts of Tan
Yen, Yen The, Luc Ngan and Luc Nam. The favourable weather this year resulted
in high flowering and fruit bearing rate, hence the province is expecting for a
bumper harvest.

had a meeting with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD)
and Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) to check implementation progress of
the Plan on fresh lychee production and consumption to export to Japan in 2020.
Bac Giang focuses on making lychee national product

– The People’s Committee in Bac Giang province approved for the project “Developing
lychee become national product” in late 2017 chaired by the Department of
Science and Technology (DoCT). Though several criteria have been achieved, it
needs further drastic measures to make Bac Giang’s lychee a national product.
