A digital transformation week kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on October 17 under the theme ‘Digital data mining, successful digital transformation’.
The event's highlight is a technology exhibition featuring 40 booths, displaying digital platforms, technological solutions and apps in various fields of digital government, digital data, digital education, digital health, digital culture, digital tourism, digital business, digital banking, and fintech.

A wide range of workshops will be held on promoting public services and non-cash payments; digital data and its opportunities for Ho Chi Minh City’s development; digital education; digital health; digital infrastructure - security, safety and information security.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc expressed his hope that the event will help raise awareness of local people and businesses on the importance of digital transformation and digital economy in the city’s socio-economic development.
He also stressed that Ho Chi Minh City will speed up the implementation of digital transformation tasks, the Digital Transformation Programme, and the Year of National Digital Data 2023.

The Government of Vietnam is determined to achieve the dual goal of developing a digital government, digital economy, digital society, and forming digital technology enterprises with global competitiveness, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said at an event held in Hanoi on October 10 to mark the National Digital Transformation Day 2023 with the theme "Exploiting digital data to create values".

Vietnam’s digital economy has played an important role in the country’s socio-economic development in recent times, and accounted for nearly 15% of GDP in the first half of this year, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
