The program deploys technology professionals chosen by Google for their extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with its technologies. They are recognized for their expertise and contributions to their communities.
The nine Vietnamese scientists in the program before Linh work in various fields, including AI/machine learning, android, cloud, workspace, and angular.
"This recognition honors her deep expertise in core research and practical applications, particularly in areas like large language models, MLOps, and scalable AI systems," Google said.
"It also highlights her contributions to addressing societal issues through technology."
Linh holds a master’s degree in AI from the National University of Singapore and has contributed a great deal to academic research. She has two widely cited papers: Aspect-based Automated Evaluation of Dialogues and A Survey on Empathetic Dialogue Systems.
She began learning programming in middle school and pursued software engineering at university.
"I was inspired by accomplishments like IBM Watson and DeepBlue, AI systems that demonstrated the incredible ability to understand and interact with humans," she says, explaining that this pushed her to explore how machines can understand human language.
In 2011 she created her first chatbot, an experience that helped her realize AI’s potential to solve complex problems and improve lives. This led her to focus on natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence.
"I believe AI can have a profound positive impact," she says.
