Recently, there have been abnormal weather conditions with regular flood causing huge consequences to the people in the mountainous provinces including Bac Giang. Thus, Thanh started researching to create the flood detection pole with bengal light in order to help others timely acknowledge the bad case to minimise the damage and loss.

Thank to the mechanical knowledge and experience, Thanh researched and completed the product, consisting of alarm, horn and bengal light to alert the people. It is connected with the Internet computer and smart telephone so as to support the managing agency or user to easily search for current parameter and forecast the flooding level.

The small and compact product is suitable to several locations. “In two months, I collected information then bought the components and erected to complete the product. The flood detection pole proved an exact result from the first testing time. Besides, it is not necessary to attach the receiver, broadcasting device, walkie-talkie, speaker, SMS software or camera when using,” Thanh shared.

The device can detect high risk of flash flood, broken dike…The lights on the pole are designed as the traffic light with green, red and yellow as well as the horn and speaker so as to alert many people.

The passion for research and invention inspires Thanh to create several products such as peanut plucking machine, soil making machine, rice seed sowing machine …which were awarded in many contests and competitions.

Particularly, the flood detection pole with bengal light won Consolidation Prize at the Invention Contest 2018 launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Now the application of its intellectual property right is approved by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (under the Ministry of Science and Technology).
