Forum encourages voice and action of youth union members

In 2024, the ‘Voice of the Youth - Action of the Youth Union’ forum received over 10,000 questions from youth union members across the country. Following the success of the previous edition, this year’s forum will be organised under the theme ‘The Mission of Youth in the Era of National Rise.’

Originally a dialogue between the First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU)’s Central Committee and young people, the ‘Voice of the Youth - Action of the Youth Union’ forum is one of the key events of the annual Youth Month.

It aims to provide updated information and directions for youth union members regarding the Party's guidelines and the State’s policies and laws on the youth, as well as programmes and activities hosted by the HCYU, the Vietnam Youth Federation, and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation Central Council.

With participation of members of the HCYU’s Secretariat, representatives from relevant ministries, sectors, social organisations, and outstanding youth union members from across the country, the forum serves as a platform for sharing about the outcomes in implementing the HCYU National Congress’s Resolution and discuss ways to promote youth activities and youth movements.

Last year’s forum was held in both online and in-person formats with the theme ‘The Everlasting Path of Revolutionary Youth, connecting 65 provincial locations, 1,140 district locations, over 9,600 grassroots locations, and 12 overseas locations, with total participation of over 1.2 million people from at home and abroad.

The hybrid event recorded over 10,000 questions and 2,000 initiatives and proposals from Vietnamese youth globally — four times higher than in 2023.

Following this success, this year’s forum has opened its registration portal at http://doithoai.doanthanhnien.vn to collect opinions, questions, proposals, and initiatives from youth union members. Soon after its launch, the portal has received hundreds of questions from youths at home and abroad.

To facilitate young people in tracking the event via the portal, artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been utilised to arrange questions and ideas by specific themes such as communication and education, revolutionary movements, youth supportive programmes, and youth union building.

The 2025 forum is scheduled to take place on March 13 with discussions focussing on the mission of youths in economic-social development efforts, national digital transformation, and international integration; and the responsibilities of young generations in the fight against wastefulness and the building of a comprehensive strong youth union that can facilitate the national construction and defence.

Designed as a venue for young people to raise their voice and share their ideas with the HCYU’s Secretariat directly, the ‘Voice of the Youth - Action of the Youth Union’ forum has succeeded in bringing the HCYU closer to its members, promoting HCYU’s role as a companion to youth.

It has also contributed to realising tasks outlined in the 12th National HCYU Congress for the 2022 - 2027 tenure as well as this year's youth movements.
