Hanoi honours prominent folklore artisans
The honouring artisans are working in the fields of folklore performing arts, including ‘ca tru’ (ceremonial singing), puppetry, Ai Lao folk dance and religious practice.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi city People’s Committee, Ngo Van Quy, said that the recognition for the artisans aims to honour their significant contributions to the protection and promotion of Hanoi’s intangible cultural heritages.
He noted that folklore artisans are working as living national treasures who play a crucial role in possessing, preserving and handing down traditional cultural values to younger generations.
He also stressed that the city’s authorities always attach special attention to safeguarding and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritages.
Sharing his feelings on being awarded the Meritorious Artisan title, Trieu Dinh Hong said that it was a great honour for him to receive the accolade. He pledged to raise a higher sense of responsibility in preserving the traditional Trong Bong dance in his hometown in Trieu Khuc village, Thanh Tri district.
He also hoped that the city’s authorities would provide further support from for his community to safeguard and uphold the unique value of Trong Bong dance.
