Many farming models with billion VND revenue

Chairwoman of Hiep Hoa district Farmers’ Association (DAF) Nguyen Thi Manh Hien said the DAF regularly accelerates communication task to change the awareness, promote the core role of farmers, awake and mobilize the strength of farmer members to develop agriculture, household economy and new style rural building.

Recently, many animal husbandry, cultivation and fishery farming models have been established in Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province), helping bring high economic value.

Typical, several cultivation models prove high economic efficiency such as Hoang Luong water dropwort in 200 ha, mushroom producing model in Hoang An and Dong Lo communes, cucumber and baby cucumber production model in 65ha in Thuong Thang, Mai Dinh, Dong Lo…

Many pig farming models have high value like Binh Minh Organic Cooperative in Danh Thang commune, Kim Tan Minh Company Limited in Quang Minh commune while others earn good income from chicken and duck raising with high technology application in Dong Tam village, Thuong Thang commune and Tan Son village in Hung Son commune…with scale of over 10 million heads.

Besides, the high intensive and VietGAP fishery farming models in the communes of Thai Son, Hop Thinh and Dong Lo give higher productivity and economic value of 50 to 55 percent than traditional method.

Farmer members keep core role in building new style rural

Hien said the emulative movement “Good production and business farmers join hands to get rich and sustainably reduce the poverty” is the key action of the Farmers’ Association at all levels which is widespread in many fields as the core of rural socio-economy.

“All chapters of DAF have regularly cooperated with competent agencies to instruct and assist farmers to build sustainable agricultural development model with hi-tech application,” said Hien.

In 2021, the DAF cooperated to communicate and guide to establish three agriculture cooperatives to increase total number of cooperatives in the district up to 75.

The collective economic models act as the factor to create One Commune One Product. Last year, the district had three products granted with three star title, including Yellow Flower Glutinous Rice of Thai Son Agriculture Cooperative, Peanut Candy and Brown Rice Candy of Tien Bo Candy Production Facility in Quang Minh commune (making total number of three star products up to 10).

Besides, the district had three farmer creative solutions and five products honored as provincial outstanding agricultural products.

The communication about environment protection and new style rural building is actively responded by the Farmers’ Association in the communes and towns in the district by calling for farmer members to collect and dispose wastes at each family, clean up environment at public places, effectively implement monthly “Green Sunday”.

The district now has 83 “bright, green and clean” roads and 34 fields of “Three Zero” (Zero plant protection product on prohibited list, Zero package of plant protection product and fertilizer on the inner-field channel, Zero growth stimulator in prohibited list) which are operated by the farmers’ Association with practical effectiveness, especially in changing awareness and action of farmer members in protecting rural environment.

The gained results helped affirm and raise the position and role of Farmers’ Association as the center and core of farmers’ movement and new style rural building.
