Luc Ngan district commits to facilitate lychee processing and consumption
The district has organized the working delegations to grasp the import and export situation and consumption market while sending documents and letters to the industrial parks, agencies, units and enterprises to request for support in consumption of lychee.

Through different channels, the district has signed agreements to consume more than 45,000 tonnes of lychee including 25,000 tonnes for export. The local government committed to create the best conditions to support the enterprises, cooperatives and traders in lychee purchasing and processing,
According to representatives of some enterprises and traders, transportation of lychee to southern provinces faces difficulties with high costs due to petrol prices. Some opinions requested for support and expanding custom clearance at the border gates to China to shorten the route.
According to representative of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department has worked to connect with the super markets and wholesale markets to boost domestic consumption. For export, lychee is currently prioritised for clearance at the border gates in Lang Son and Lao Cai provinces.
In his conclusion, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan The Tuan directed the district to grasp the opinions at the meeting, collaborate with related departments and agencies to timely surmount difficulties and create the best conditions for the firms, cooperatives and traders while implementing measures to protect the clean and safe lychee areas against Covid-19 pandemic and ensuring outstanding quality.
He requested the locality to continue taking initiative in connecting, promoting and diversifying the domestic market on both traditional channels and e-commerce platforms, particularly encouraging the locals to participate in online platforms and social networks as the target market.
For Chinese market, the district needs to direct competent agencies to require traders and drivers to obey guidance of the border gate management boards. The district people’s committee was urged to collaborate with the task force at the border gates to provide information of the daily volume of goods and number of trucks to properly control the number vehicles to the border gates to avoid traffic congestion.

He requested the related agencies and Luc Ngan district to facilitate lychee growers, firms, cooperatives and traders in harvesting, processing and consuming lychee.
Regarding custom clearance at the border gates, he stressed, the provincial People’s Committee would continue working with related agencies, units and localities having border gates to create the best conditions for export of lychee to China while discussing with aviation agencies on supporting freight costs.
The provincial Vice Chairman Phan The Tuan urged the enterprises and traders to actively survey, connect and sign binding contracts with enterprises, cooperatives and groups of households to produce and consume Luc Ngan lychee.
The central and local press agencies were requested to boost advertising and promoting the trade brand of “Luc Ngan lychee” to domestic and overseas consumers.
