Luc Ngan promotes lychee consumption associated with summer tourism program

Updated: 18:02, 04/04/2024

BAC GIANG - In 2024, the Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) has more than 17,000 hectares of lychee. Due to the low flowering rate, the fruit output is estimated to reach more than 49,000 tonnes, including 21,400 tonnes of early ripening lychees and the rest of main season fruits.

It is expected that early-ripening lychees will be harvested from early June while main season lychee is ripe from June 15.

To improve the efficiency of processing and consuming lychees, this year, Luc Ngan determined selling fresh fruits as the main form of consumption (accounting for about 80%). The district will focus on processing lychees on site by canning and juicing.

In addition to the domestic market, the locality further targets to export markets such as China, Southeast Asian countries, EU countries... while facilitating businesses and traders to purchase local products.

At the same time, the district focuses on monitoring and closely directing production and processing activities to ensure output and product quality that meet the standards of many market segments.

Local authority also strictly manages 103 approved growing area codes; promotes communication and promotion campaigns on lychee consumption and expands consumer markets.

In particular, the district organizes a summer tourism program in 2024 associated with promoting lychee consumption such as: Instructing cooperatives to organize tours to experience lychee gardens combined with visiting Cam Son lake, Khuon Than lake, Am Vai pagoda and craft village.
