In 2021, despite facing unprecedented difficulties and challenges due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the efforts and determination of the whole political system, the attention and support of ministries and central agencies, as well as the accompanying of the business community and people of all strata, Bac Giang repelled the Covid-19 epidemic, returning to the new normal state after nearly two months.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the province’s delegation of National Assembly deputies Duong Van Thai emphasized that Bac Giang clearly identifies the role of foreign relations work, saying this is both a task and a resource.

He told the ambassadors that during their three-year stay abroad, they should pay attention to connection activities so that Bac Giang could have information about the lychee processing and preservation technology.

Thai said as Bac Giang belongs to the mountainous midland region, with 110,000 ha of production forest, the province currently boasts a huge source of wood materials for processing. He said he hopes that the ambassadors will pay attention to introducing the wood peeling technology to increase the product value.

Concluding the working session, Minister Bui Thanh Son appreciated the determination of the leaders of Bac Giang province in implementing the Resolution of the 19th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term as well as the province's foreign affairs, thereby making an important contribution to the external activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country at large.

Regarding the local information and development needs of Bac Giang, the ministry will concretize them in its work programme as well as develop a plan to coordinate with the province to organize the implementation.

Minister Son agreed to support Bac Giang in implementing the local foreign affairs. The province needs to soon obtain information and actively connect with the Department of Foreign Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for early promotion.

He noted that Bac Giang needs to pay heed to exploiting important and traditional markets through building sustainable and long-term product brands, and continue to promote cultural and tourism values, not only in the country but also in the region and the world in service of socio-economic development. Special national heritages and relic sites must be considered tourism products.

He assigned units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to gather information to continue researching and helping Bac Giang carry out foreign affairs while coordinating to grasp the number of Bac Giang people abroad to have programmes and plans to connect and make them look toward their homeland.

On this occasion, Minister Bui Thanh Son awarded the medal "For the cause of Vietnam's diplomacy" to Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong.
