Muoi village’s leader sets fine example in all local movements
He was born in 1962. After 3 years undergoing military service, Bao came back his hometown in 1986 and proactively took part in social work then he was elected a member of the communal people’s council.

He took a number of positions such as police officer and head of the veteran association. He has been the leader of Muoi village since 2013. He has properly fulfilled his duties at any work position.
As a village leader, Bao regularly propagandises and mobilises his people to take part in emulative movements in production and building new-style rural area.
About 10 years ago, the poverty rate at this village was very high when local people faced numerous difficulties and were provoked by bad people affecting solidarity among the community.
After identifying the cause, Bao proactively mobilized local people not to follow bad people and try to develop family economy. In order to set a good example, he always pioneers every work especially application of advanced technology in production. A part from livestock, his family grows lychee following VietGAP procedure.
7 years ago, Bao was the first person gaining success in grafting Mien Thiet longan into the local longan breed which brings high economic values. He family earns from 300 to 400 million VND (12,900 to 17,200 USD) per year from fruits.
From his success, he shared experience with local people in growing and caring lychee to maximise fruit bearing in inconvenient weather to reap clean and safe products enhancing economic values.
As a result, more than 90 percent of lychee growing area in this village bore fruits this year gaining a productivity of some 2,000 tonnes worth some 90 billion VND (3.9 million USD).

In addition, Bao often encourages his people to take part in the common works of the village particularly cleaning roads or supporting poor households with loans for production.
Muoi village is home to 378 households with 1,730 people in which 99 percent of the population belong to San Diu ethnic group. Currently, there are only 9 poor households in this village. Muoi village has won the title of cultural village for many consecutive years.
“If you want your people to do something, you must be a pioneer and set a fine example”, said Bao.
Thanks to his positive contributions in fulfilling the targets of the village, Bao was awarded certificate of merit by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee in the years of 2009 and 2013 for his outstanding achievements during 5 years implementing the Prime Minister’s Directive on “ promoting roles of prestigious people in ethnic minority areas in construction and protection of the nation”.
