Mastering difficult techniques in treating cerebral infarction

With 21 years associated with the emergency work, doctor Pham Tung Son (born in 1967), head of the Emergency Department (the provincial General Hospital), has always been active in scientific research to gradually master some new and intensive medical techniques.

During the working process, he found that the rate of people suffering from stroke increased day by day, accounting for about 30 percent of the total number of hospitalised patients. 

To this fact, Dr. Pham Tung Son carried out the scientific project "Assessing the situation of brain stroke treatment at the provincial General Hospital". The project helped easily identify the overall picture of this disease as well as the treatment methods at the hospital.

In order to minimise complications for patients, in 2017, Son and nurse Ngo Xuan Thai were sent to study at the Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital for three months to master the intravenous thrombolytic therapy. Since June 2018, the provincial General Hospital has officially implemented this technique, with 27 cases successfully conducted and no case failed.

During the course of work, Dr. Pham Tung Son has chaired many highly regarded projects. Not only being passionate about work with many initiatives, Dr. Pham Tung Son is also Vice Chairman of the hospital’s trade union. He coordinates with other officials in organizing many meaningful activities every year, taking care of trade union members' interests.

Teacher of many good English students

"Not afraid of doing wrong when learning English" is the teaching motto of Ngo Thi Mai Phuong (born in 1979), English teacher of the Le Quy Don Secondary School (Bac Giang city). Self-realizing that she had suffered from these limitations, Phuong tried to fix the problems to make students love this subject.

With her love of the profession and responsibility in work, she and her colleagues have achieved high results in fostering excellent students, contributing to affirming the prestige and quality of education in the key school of the province.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the Le Quy Don Secondary School had all the students participating in the contests to select excellent English students at the municipal and provincial levels winning prizes. They included two first prizes, 10 second prizes and four third prizes at the municipal level; two second prizes, five third prizes and one consolation prize at the provincial level.

Loving the profession and constantly making efforts to devote herself to the work, teacher Ngo Thi Mai Phuong continuously won the titles of grassroots-level role model and provincial-level excellent teacher, and was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

Saving costs, reducing pollution

In May 2019, Nguyen Van Hieu (born in 1978), head of Production Shift 3 of the Water Plant at the Bac Giang Clean Water Joint Stock Company was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

More than 20 years working for the company, with passion, creativeness, eagerness to learn and wholehearted dedication to the job, he has to date had dozens of initiatives. For example, the initiative "Discharging foam at the top of the chemical mixing tank" helps save labor and increase the foam discharge capacity of the system. Or the initiative "Putting mud suction pipe in the well away from the main pipe" reduces the influence of mud...

In 2018, Hieu had the initiative "The system to collect alum for the tank", which was highly valued by the company's leaders. By connecting these two discharge lines into one, bringing the amount of overflown alum back to the original tank to serve production, Hieu helped the company save 35 million VND each year, and overcome environmental pollution.

National Press Awards to honour 106 outstanding works

Trinh Duy Hieu lengthens his list of outstanding achievements

(BGO)- The Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2019 concluded in Adelaide, Australia. All eight members of the Vietnamese team won medals. Particularly, Trinh Duy Hieu, a 12th grader of the physics class continued bringing glory to Bac Giang High School for Gifted Students with a silver medal and highest score among the Vietnamese team.
