Pioneering, brave and creative to build the nation

Updated: 16:07, 26/03/2019
Today, March 26, 2019, is a significant milestone, marking 88 years of the establishment, growth and dedication of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU). In the lively atmosphere of the Youth Month, millions of Youth Union members, officials and branches nationwide have been making efforts to gain specific and practical achievements in all aspects.

During the past 88 years, under the leadership of the Party and the guidance of Uncle Ho, the HCMCYU has gradually grown up, becoming a reliable reserve force of the Party. With the care and education of the HCMCYU, generations of Vietnamese youth have constantly promoted the patriotic tradition and asserted their revolutionary spirit and loyalty to the Party and the nation.

The first session of the HCMCYU 11th National Congress kicks off in Hanoi on December 10, 2017.

They have also volunteered to take on hard and new work and successfully completed all assigned tasks. The youth always uphold the spirit of fondness for learning, diligence, creativity and solidarity in a bid to master modern science and technology and be confident in the process of international integration.

A number of youth movements have been launched nationwide over the past years to implement action programmes outlined in the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the HCMCYU.

Such movements aim to educate the younger generations of revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyles, namely "Voluntary Youth", "Creative Youth", "Youth pioneers to protect the Fatherland”, "Accompanying youth in learning", "Accompanying young in starting business and career", "Accompany young people to develop skills in life, and to improve physical and spiritual life", among others.

These activities affirm the role of the HCMCYU in supporting the youth, protecting legitimate rights and interests of young people while promoting the role of the youth in practical activities.

In addition, many young people of ethnic minorities groups and the youth in rural and mountainous areas have low levels of education and skills and do not meet the requirements of society.

Amid difficulties and challenges, the HCMCYU should improve the effectiveness of its movements and action programmes in a more practical manner. It is necessary to renew the operations of the Youth Union associated with different objects of the youth to become a reliable companion of young people, thus, stimulating strength, intelligence and beautiful lifestyle among the youth.

Party committees and authorities should believe in and create more favourable conditions for Youth Union organisations and the youth to try and promote their capacity, qualifications and creativity to devote to the country.
