New look on Ring Road 4

Updated: 09:06, 04/02/2020
(BGO) - The Ring Road 4 (Hanoi)’s entire section passing through Bac Giang province is expected to be completed and put into use in the first quarter of this year, thereby creating conditions not only for communes and townships which the road runs through but also for both Viet Yen and Hiep Hoa districts to make breakthroughs in socio-economic development.

Determined to completing the section

The project to build the Ring Road 4 (Hanoi)’s section running through Bac Giang province has been identified as a key project that must be completed early this year. The route starts from the Bac Giang - Hanoi Expressway (Nenh township, Viet Yen district) and ends at Xuan Cam - Bac Phu bridge (Xuan Cam commune, Hiep Hoa district), including one main road and three branch roads with a total length of 35 km.

Workers create pores on the surface of the Ring Road 4.

In fact, the project implementation is facing a number of difficulties relating to ground clearance. Therefore, the competent agencies and local authorities as well as the investor and construction contractors have actively carried out many synchronous measures to persuade people to agree on land clearance.

In order to build the Ring Road 4’s section running through Phuc Ninh village, many families have to break down their houses and fences to get land to make the road. Of those, Thuy's family has to give about 208sq.m of residential land and the entire house.

With a large volume of soil for the roadbed of the entire route (about 1 million cu.m), the investor has proactively worked with contractors to find additional soil sources in some neighboring localities such as Hanoi, Thai Nguyen and Lang Son.

Up to now, the entire roadbed has basically been completed, 80 percent of the main road and more than 50 percent of branch roads have been concreted. The railway overpasses have been basically completed while the bridge over the Cau River connecting with Hanoi capital has had 70 percent of the workload done. The relevant units strive to complete and put into use the project in the first quarter of this year.

Development opportunities

Do Van Hung, Director of Viet Yen district’s Project Management Unit, said that in order to tap the advantages from the Ring Road 4, the district plans to build and develop the Trung Son - Ninh Son Industrial Cluster on an area of about 75ha.

Besides, the district also has plans to build the Ninh Son - Quang Minh new urban and cultural-ecological area, and develop ecotourism development areas in combination with conservation of relic sites and craft villages in Trung Son, Tien Son and Van Ha communes.

Especially, investors will be invited to build the Hoa Yen Industrial Park on an area of 400 hectares in Trung Son, Tien Son communes (Viet Yen district) and Dong Lo commune (Hiep Hoa district).

Like Viet Yen district, in order to tap the advantages from the Ring Road 4, the Hiep Hoa district People's Committee has issued many specific policies and plans. In the immediate future, the district will prioritize investments in infrastructure construction to connect new urban development areas and build industrial - urban - service areas and industrial clusters linking the Ring Road 4 with the national highway 37.

Although now the Ring Road 4 still has some uncompleted sections, it has initially made changes in rural areas which it runs through. Inter-commune and inter-village roads from residential areas are connected to the main and branch roads of the Ring Road 4, forming a transport network linking regions, thus promoting local socio-economic development.

A new spring has come. The Ring Road 4 not only brings joy to Bay and Thuy but also to many residents in the two districts of Hiep Hoa and Viet Yen in particular, and Bac Giang province in general, opening up many new opportunities for trade and socio-economic development in the future.
