Nguyen Duc Tung wins first prize at 2019 Bac Giang Television Singing Contest

(BGO) – The final round of the 2019 Bac Giang Television Singing Contest was jointly held by the Bac Giang Radio & Television Station and Bach Viet Corporation Joint Stock Company in the evening of December 15 at the provincial Conventional Center.   

The contest was launched in August with the participation from more than 100 candidates from many provinces and cities across the nation.

After two preliminary rounds, the Organization Board selected 9 best candidates to the final rounds. Nguyen Van Thanh was the sole candidate of Bac Giang province entering the final.

Most of the candidates were trained at the vocal departments of the prestigious and professional facilities nationwide. At the final round, each member performed a song in 1 out of 3 genres of folk, chamber and light music to praise the love for the country, nation and others.

According to the Jury Board, the candidates had strong voice with diverse performances from gentle to exciting melodies. The candidates selected the songs suitably to their voice and handled them delicately.

Concluding the event, one first prize, one second prize, one third prize and 6 consolidation prizes were awarded.

The first prize winner was Nguyen Duc Tung (born in 1994) in Nam Dinh province who is now second year student at Vietnam National Academy of Music with the song “Tuong quan Vo Nguyen Giao or General Vo Nguyen Giap”.

Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong and leaders of Bac Giang Radio & Television Station present the first prize to Nguyen Duc Tung.

The second prize was awarded to Nong Thi Trang (Hanoi) with the song “Dong song xanh or Green river” while Nguyen Xuan Tien (Hanoi) won third prize with the song “Vong quoc or Nostalgia”.

The 2019 Bac Giang Television Singing Contest was a prestigious musical playground to discover new potential music talents to help accelerate the development of the provincial art and culture movement.
