The rice pancake making is a long-standing traditional craft of the people in Dinh Ke ward. Deploying the OCOP programme, the Ke Rice Pancake Cooperative has successfully built a chain model in production, processing and consumption of products, thereby helping the cooperative's products have higher value, a wide consumption market and more stable prices.
Currently, the cooperative has 30 members. Since it implemented the model, the cooperative has received support from the Thien An One Member Co., Ltd. in packing products and providing them to the market. The pancakes are vacuum-packed in a pretty polite and eye-catching paper box. The product has been introduced and sold in supermarkets in many provinces and cities across the country.
Along with Dinh Ke ward, Da Mai ward is also known as a place with the long-lasting traditional vermicelli production in Bac Giang city. Implementing the OCOP programme, local households have bravely invested in buying machines to produce dried vermicelli.
At present, Da Mai Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative has piloted production and sale of three typical dried vermicelli products, including dried moringa vermicelli, dried brown rice vermicelli and dried white rice vermicelli.
With full packs and labels and clear origin, the product quality has satisfied consumers and the vermicelli is sold in markets in the province and some provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh.
As the dried vermicelli production model has just been put into operation, the machinery is not fully equipped yet. At present, dried vermicelli producing households in Da Mai are looking forward to receiving the State's financial support to invest in purchasing the remaining equipment and machinery to be more proactive in production.
Already gaining a foothold in supermarkets
Besides the vermicelli and rice pancakes of the two above-said trade villages, the Tin Nhiem clean pork is also a typical product chosen by the city to be included in the OCOP programme this time.

Tin Nhiem Clean Pork Cooperative has been operating for many years. Its products have gained a firm foothold in Bac Giang city’s market. Every month, the cooperative supplies dozens of tonnes of products to many collective kitchens in the city.
Especially since this programme was launched, clean pork and products made from clean pork of the cooperative have been widely sold at the Co.opmart supermarket system. Its products have gained an increasingly firm foothold in the markets inside and outside the province.
With careful preparation to select products of each ward and commune’s strength, the OCOP programme has helped producers and businesses to raise income as well as created a new direction in the production of typical products of localities, gradually improving the efficiency and contributing to the socio-economic development of the city.
Nguyen Tien Tu, deputy head of the city’s Economic Department, said that to promote the programme, in 2019, the city is supporting cooperatives in promoting trade and product consumption such as: organizing conferences on food safety and supply-demand connection between production and consumption units; displaying products under the OCOP programme at fairs and booths.
The department have held training courses for owners of production establishments and guided them how to make dossiers for product evaluation and recognition; while focusing on supporting labeling, packaging and production lines to further improve the quality and competitiveness of products.
