PM approves national public service portal project

Updated: 09:15, 14/03/2019
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a project on a new national public service portal, with people and businesses the centre of these services.

The website will be set up at a unique address to publicise information regarding administrative procedures and provide public services, ensuring inspection and assessment of individuals and organisations as well as accountability of State agencies.

The project aims to improve the quality of public services by State agencies, largely by digitalising the process.

It is also expected to improve Vietnam’s performance in Online Services Index of the E-Government Development Index as rated by the United Nations.

The project aims to complete institutions for online public service supply, especially online administrative procedures.

The portal will offer at least 30 percent of essential public services of ministries, agencies and localities by 2030, which will increase 20 percent each year towards all public services at the third and fourth levels.

Of note, with the Simple Single Sign On (SSO) platform, the portal is expected to have 500,000 accounts in 2019, 1 million in 2020 and at least 8 million in 2030.
