This month, the industrial production is maintained at good growth rate compared to the same period of last year. Particularly, the production index in February increases by 30.3 percent while this index jumped 21 percent in first 2 months.

The industrial production value in February is estimated at 16.33 trillion VND (705.8 million USD), up 6.9 percent compared to the previous month. The 2-month value is estimated at 31.605 trillion VND (1.36 billion USD), up 23.7 percent against the same period. However, outbreak of Covid-19 in China has made negative impacts on some key sectors of the province.

Regarding agricultural sector, the localities have completed harvesting the winter crop and they are cultivating the spring crop on season. The outbreak of pig disease has been controlled when a number of livestock bases have recovered production.

The export revenue is estimated at 725 million USD in February and 1.175 billion USD in the first 2 months respectively, up 52.8 percent. Domestic budget revenue is estimated at 620 billion VND (26.8 million USD) in February and 1.64 trillion VND (70.9 million USD), up 35.1 percent compared to the same period and equal to 18.5 percent of the annual budget estimate.

Political security and social order have been ensured while traffic accidents dramatically decreased in all 3 criterion.

In his conclusion, PPC Chairman Duong Van Thai requested the departments, sectors and localities to continue taking key measures in implementation of the socio-economic development plan and state budget estimate in 2020.

He urged high attention to making the master plan of Bac Giang province in the period from 2021 to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Besides, it is necessary to fulfill key duties and solutions for improvement of the investment climate to enhance the national competitiveness in 2020. It is essential to implement proper and flexible measures to removes obstacles for enterprises and investors.

The PPC Chairman requested related localities and agencies to continue fighting Covid-19 while thoroughly grasping the situation, preparing sufficient medical equipment and ensure financial resources for this mission. They also need to pay attention to foreigners working in the enterprises and local people going to work and study in China.

Besides, the departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment and the districts of Luc Ngan, Tan Yen and Luc Nam need to proactively join hands to implement the plan on lychee production and consumption for export focusing on major markets like China, Japan and domestic supermarket chains.
