Some 15.3 million USD spent for construction of field roads and canals
Accordingly, the plan focuses on supporting construction of traffic infrastructure and field canals for 87 farming areas on total area of 18,904 hectares including 67 concentrated rice-cultivating areas with total 11,283 hectares, 10 vegetable farming areas with total 817 hectares and 10 fruit growing areas with total 6,804 hectares.

The provincial People’s Committee prioritizes concentrated rice cultivation areas, which are in planning to be strictly protected for long use to ensure food safety, the vegetable and short-term industrial crop farming areas at a scale from 20 hectares and the consolidated large fields.
The mountainous districts like Son Dong, Luc Ngan and Yen The will select the production areas at a scale of 10 hectares or more. Besides, the provincial People’s Committee prioritizes concentrated growing areas of the key fruits such as lychee, orange, pomelo, custard apple and longan at the scale from 50 hectares.
The total fund for the 2022-2025 period is 341.58 billion VND (15.3 million USD) from the financial resources to support and develop rice land in the 2021-2025 period. Of which, the support rate for consolidating the field canals is about 0.85 billion VND (37,000 USD) per kilometer while supporting 1.3 billion VND (56,521 USD) per kilometer for field roads.
The provincial People’s Committee assigned the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to collaborate with the districts and city to estimate fund based on the approved plan to submit the Department of Finance for appraisal, make the survey and design documentation, implement and report the implementation results as regulation.
The district- level people’s committee will collaborate with the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to implement the plan and ensure land conditions for construction work in the concentrated production areas.
