Student of Thai Thuan High School in Bac Giang wins first prize at “Overcoming fear of nCoV” contest
The Central Youth Union in collaboration with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association held a review and award ceremony of the “Overcoming fear of nCoV” contest on March 29 evening.
Bac Giang province is honoured to have an entry by author Pham Thuy Trang, a student of Thai Thuan High School (Bac Giang city) winning first prize at provincial level.
“Overcoming fear of nCoV” is the contest for high school and college students or groups of students who are studying at high schools, vocational training centers, regular education centers, universities, institutions and colleges in Vietnam and abroad, young people and others who pay interest in the contest.

The contest has taken place since January 2022 with 3 rounds. The first round is pre-qualification, the second is voting and the third is finale.
The individuals and collectives record their images practicing the 7 basic movements of the exercise “Overcoming the fear of nCoV” on the background of the song “Viet Nam – Beat Covid-19” then send the video clips to the Organizing Board through the contest website.
After the 1st round, Bac Giang province was in top 8 provinces and cities with largest number of entries nationwide including 189 participating entries and 172 valid ones to be chosen to the voting round (online voting).
The voting round lasted from March 1 to March 10. This round received 1,064 interactions and votes. The entry of Thai Thuan High School excellently won the first prize at provincial level.
The contest is expected to raise young people’s awareness of roles and effects of practicing exercises and sports to protect and improve their health to response to the epidemic.
