Updated: 10:00, 04/06/2025

The promotion and introduction of OCOP products have been widely implemented by localities across the country. Accordingly, more than 674 centres/points for the display and sale of OCOP products have been established, linked to urban centres and tourist destinations in various localities. OCOP products have been and are being widely embraced by people throughout the country.

According to the Central Coordination Office for New Rural Development, as of the end of 2024, the country has 15,590 OCOP products rated three stars or higher; among them, 76.2% are three-star products, 22.9% are four-star products, and 79 are five-star products, with the remainder being potential five-star products.

The promotion and introduction of OCOP products have been widely implemented by localities across the country. Accordingly, more than 674 centres/points for the display and sale of OCOP products have been established, linked to urban centres and tourist destinations in various localities. OCOP products are being widely embraced by people throughout the country.

Ninh Thuan Province is one of the localities that has always paid attention to and actively promoted the introduction of OCOP products.

As a result, many production facilities, enterprises, and cooperatives in Ninh Thuan have quickly seized the opportunity to bring their products to e-commerce platforms such as Sendo, Lazada, Tiki, Shopee, Buudien.vn, social media platforms, and the province's own e-commerce platform (sanphamninhthuan.vn).

This provincial e-commerce platform has attracted the participation of 96 units with 418 products. In addition, the locality has supported businesses and facilities by building 14 online brand identities, 18 individual e-commerce websites, and 18 retail software solutions, while helping 220 units implement electronic contracts in transactions.

Ninh Thuan aims to become a leading locality in e-commerce application and digital economic development. The province strives for the digital economy to account for 12% of its GRDP by the end of 2025; e-commerce revenue is expected to account for 7% of total retail sales, and 100% of OCOP products will be available on domestic e-commerce platforms.

In Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province, there are approximately 234 recognised OCOP products rated three stars or higher. To date, the province has established five display points for OCOP products. Some OCOP products are now available in major supermarket chains such as BigC, Lotte, and Aeon.

The province aims to develop an additional 40 OCOP products in 2025. In parallel, the province will complete a modern and synchronised OCOP product management and monitoring system; strengthen training and capacity-building for officials and producers; boost trade promotion and product marketing; and gradually expand export markets.

According to a representative from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province, to facilitate OCOP producers in the coming time, the provincial agricultural sector will continue to support these producers in enhancing product promotion, trade promotion, production capacity, technological improvement, and product quality enhancement to meet the increasingly high demands of the market.

According to Ngo Truong Son, Chief of the Central Coordination Office for New Rural Development, strengthening the promotion and trade of OCOP products is essential.

Tan Yen guava bud tea products of Quyen Phong Agricultural Cooperative in Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) meet 3-star OCOP standards.

However, in order to bring products closer to and gain the trust of consumers, attention must also be paid to product inspection and monitoring.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has issued guidelines and urged localities to intensify inspection and monitoring of OCOP products, withdrawing products that fail to meet quality standards or do not comply with announced specifications.

As a result, many localities have proactively developed plans and carried out activities such as notifying and recalling expired products whose producers have not completed the re-evaluation and recognition dossiers; and inspecting and monitoring products after they have been certified.

These actions play a significant role in raising awareness and responsibility among OCOP producers while affirming the role of state management agencies and the credibility of OCOP products among consumers.
