Tan Yen prepares condition to consume early ripening lychees

(BGO) – To prepare consumption condition of early ripening lychees this year, the People’s Committee in Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) requested competent agencies to enhance inspection and supervision at the growing areas, packaging facilities in order to ensure safety and qualification for domestic market and export demand.   

The district also supervises the contract signing among production groups, cooperatives and business during production and consumption so as to ensure enough qualified product for export.

More communication has been done to promote Tan Yen early ripening lychees on mass media. Relevant agencies were recommended to well prepare the packages for product on exhibition, display and promotion.

The district People’s Committee ordered the competent division to cohost events and attract more businesses to consume local products.

Besides, local authority focused on training and guiding participating households to cultivate lychees in line with VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards so that the fruits meet the export standards to Japan and EU while facilitating businesses during lychee production and consumption.

Tan Yen early ripening lychee reached high flowering rate of over 90 percent in 2023. Now it is bearing small fruits. Thanks to good cultivation, most of the lychee growing areas are well developed with few diseases.

Luc Ngan lychee geographical indication protection proves effective
Since obtaining a certificate of geographical indication (GI) from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) in March 2021, Thieu lychee grown in Luc Ngan district in the northern province of Bac Giang has seen its competitiveness and export volume significantly rising.
