Tet for the poor and AO victims

(BGO) – The Red Cross Society in the northern province of
Bac Giang has recently launched the movement “Tet for the Poor and Agent Orange Victims”,
lasting from November 1, 2019 till February 1, 2020.
Accordingly, all chapters of the provincial Red Cross Society plan to call for various sources to present at least 33,000 gift packages (worth from 300 – 500,000 VND per set) to the poor and Agent Orange victims in the province.

The kind-hearted people are welcomed to donate clothes and food to support the impoverished families to enjoy the Tet holiday as well as sponsor a specific case.
Peak month for the poor: Joining hands for no one left behind
(BGO) - The peak month
for the poor launched every year by the provincial Fatherland Front Committee,
which serves as the province’s board for mobilising capital for the “For the
Poor” Fund, is an important activity to implement sustainable poverty reduction
and social security programmes in Bac Giang province.
Scholarships given to 150 poor university students in southeastern region
Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and HCM Television held a ceremony on October 12 to grant scholarships to 15 new university students with difficult circumstances in seven southeastern provinces and cities.
Bac Giang strives to mobilize 2.2 million US dollars in Action month “For the poor” 2019
(BGO) - In response to
the Action month “For the poor” 2019 (from 17 October to 18 November) and the
social security programme 2020, the Bac Giang provincial Fatherland Front has launched the action plan aimed to mobilize 50 billion VND (2.2
million USD) for the poor and nearly poor households and disadvantage people.
Programme helps poor students pursue study
The “Vi em hieu hoc” (Because you are studious) programme has presented 125,000 scholarships worth 125 billion VND (5.37 million USD) to studious pupils in disadvantaged communes nationwide since it was launched in 2014.
Scholarships presented to poor students in Binh Duong
The Republic of Korea General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and the Korean Business Association in the southern province of Binh Duong presented 219 scholarships worth over 700 million VND (30,400 USD) to poor students with outstanding academic performance on October 7.
