Vietnam team includes Trinh Duy Hieu, Le Viet Hoang in Bien Hoa High School for Gifted Students (Ha Nam province), Nguyen Khanh Linh in Lam Son High School for Gifted Students (Thanh Hoa province), Tran Xuan Tung in Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted Student (Hanoi), Nguyen Xuan Ung in the High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi University of Science (Vietnam National University).

As schedule, the candidates will participate in two contents of theory and practice (in July 8 - 9).

The IphO was firstly held in 1967 in Poland with 5 participating countries. First Vietnamese students joined the event in 1981.

Previously, Trinh Duy Hieu won outstanding achievements in the Physics contests at provincial, national, regional and international levels. 

Particularly, he pocketed gold medal at Asian Physics Olympiad, silver medal at IphO in 2018 while winning first prize at national Physic contest for excellent student and silver medal at Asian Physics Olympiad in Australia in 2019.
